Just came across this audio of me telling a story with my harp on Lesley Holdcroft’s Through The Mind’s Eye radio program on the Voice Of Vashon.
This story is inspired by a strange little French folk song that goes like this:
I hear the Wolf and the Fox and the Weasel
I hear the Wolf and the Fox singing [first two lines repeat]
And in ten years I will come back
I hear the Wolf and the Fox singing [last two lines repeat

Versions of this song date back to medieval times!
The story I tell casts a little light on this song. What happens when you enter the Forest Wood, when your village has isolated itself from the Green for many, many years? A boy follows a mysterious cloud-coated deer into the forest, and finds out!
