Music, myth, and song connect the inner and outer worlds, while compassionate life force energy soothes as a healing balm, restoring you to yourself, your one true life, and to the jeweled one-of-a-kind relationship you have to all that is .... When we are in harmony with our lives we feel and know ourselves to be in harmony with events around us, with our family and colleagues, and with the larger nature of the world around us. We experience the joy and magic of our lives and the blessing and conversation of Spirit, Source, God, the Divine.
But at times circumstances, illness, traumatic events, or just changes in ourselves serve to throw us out of sync with this certainty and center at our core. We find ourselves flailing against what feels like an uncaring or even hostile current in our day to day experience. Nothing works smoothly, our relationships are jagged, a sadness or desperation fills our hearts. We feel stuck and unloveable. Our experience is often described by saints, thinkers, and poets as "the Dark Night Of The Soul" but nothing feels poetic about it.

What Is Reiki?
All cultures have traditions of healing by means of laying-on of hands. The word Reiki itself refers to "universal life force energy" - the life spirit woven through all creation. As a healing arts practice, Reiki is one form of this universal form of hands-on or hands-over healing. I like to think of this beautiful and simple healing modality as a tangible form of compassion and gratitude.
What Is Deer Medicine?
The Deer have so much to teach us: about grace, strength, agility, intuitive spirit, and supreme adaptability. Deer can live almost anywhere! Deer is tenderness woven with attuned power, deep listening, and quick instincts--qualities of which we might all do well to cultivate within ourselves, yes?
Deer is gentle and vulnerable, yes, but Deer is also the old "mossy-backed" stags of the forest, who are so attuned to the ways of nature and presence that they are practically invisible, and easily elude the blundering presence of humans, especially those bent on their destruction. They have their many-tined antlers that display their ability to side-step death (be it from hunters or doubt or fear), to battle successfully for their place and mates, to say yes to life.
As a healer, harper, and just plain human being who has long been inspired and fascinated by the Deer (read here about some of my connection with the Deer) I have surrendered to learning and exploring the metaphor and lore of the Deer, to seeing what she has to teach me, and to practicing the Way of the Deer (however that may be!).

When you are rebalanced and eased, you find yourself more in harmony with the circumstances and people around you, and with your sense of Spirit. I improvise and record your own personal deer medicine
song woven of certain qualities and essences to nourish your spirit, provide healing,
and offer a 'shine' to your soul's expression. Each 7-10 minute song is infused with Reiki energy
healing and blessing, and layered and mixed with selected instrumentation or healing sounds, such as
harp, crystal bowl, hand drum, oboe, sruti box, or bird song.
